What qualifications are required to charter a bareboat sailing or motor yacht ?

What is included in the price of a bare boat charter?

• VAT 12% of the charter fee (*Important note: VAT of 12% is included in the charter rate. What is a security deposit?

Damage waiver (mandatory) • Depending on the size of the boat the damage waiver varies such as: Non refundable security insurance of EURO 30 – 60 per day plus a refundable security deposit EURO 500-600 per charter. Do I need to to leave a security deposit when I hire a skipper?

On skippered charters, a non refundable damage waiver of EURO 350 is required. This amount is not refunded in any circumstances and covers any loss or accident to the yacht, equipment or third party, whether through negligence or malicious intent.

How do I provision and can I find provsions on the islands?

Inside the documentation we send you is a provιsioning list - you can pre-order if you like. You also have the choice to provision once you are at the base. All the bases have supermarkets close by who deliver your provisioning to the yacht. Provsioning is available on islands so it is best to stock up on heavy items at the which are non-perishable and fresh items such as fruits, vegetables and bread you can purchase on a daily basis from the islands. What happens if I have a problem during my charter?

Call us! We will provide you with our mobile numbers prior to your departure. Please make sure when you call us you know your location and try to describe the problem as thoroughly as possible. We have technicians which we cooperate in nearly every port of Greece.

Which days do charters usually begin?

Most charters are on Saturday to Saturday basis. Charter begin on Saturday at 17:00hrs and end the next Saturday at 09:00hrs. Please note that all yachts must return back at base the day before the end of their charter, latest at 18.00hrs for check out procedures. Exceptions to this rule can be made, please contact our office with the dates you require and we will try to accommodate your request.

Other than my food, what other costs can I expect?

Other costs which you should expect are fuel for the yacht, harbor and marina fees (Marina fees of the first and last day of your trip at your home base areincluded in the price) , Corinth canal fees if any .

Do harbors in the islands have moorings?

Most islands do not have mooring lines. You need to drop anchor and tie med-style. No birth reservations are possible in greek ports.

Are there any theft problems on cruising boats--for example if we are on shore all day visiting an island?

Greece is one of the safest countries for yachting. Of course it is always best to lock up the yacht when you are visiting ashore.

Are the yachts equipped with safety equipment?

Greece has the very strict laws concerning safety equipement on board. The fire extingishers and life raft must go for a yearly inspection. In additional all safety other safety equipement on board (safety belts, life jackets, flares etc..) are inspected every two years
