How do I choose the type of yacht I want to charter?

Choosing your yacht usually depends on the amount of time you have and how much you want to see. Whether you choose a holiday which is laid back and at stress free pace or whether you choose a holiday where you are on the go continuously are factors you must consider. An additional factor is of course price. The types of yachts available for charter are divided into two groups - Bareboat or crewed yachts. How long should I charter for?

This usually depends on the amount of time you can afford to be away. Usually the best amount of time is two weeks but should you have only one week available we can help plan your itinerary as to see and do as much as possible.

In which areas can I charter a yacht from?

FYLY yachting operates bases in Athens, Corfu, Lefkas, Skiathos, Lavrion and Kos. Of course exceptions to these bases can be made and depends on availabilties. There is however a drop off fee for charters which are not between bases. Please do not hesitate to ask information.

What should I bring with me?

Clothes should be packed in soft duffel bag type luggage which makes them ease for storage. You must keep aware you have a limited storage space. Clothes should be light, a sweater or jacket is required at nights on most islands. A hat, sunglasses and plenty of sun protection. A beach towel, the boats do have towels on board but we prefer that these are not used on the beach. And most of all don't forget your camera. Does my mobile phone work in Greece?

Greece operates on a GSM system most European mobile phones operate here. North American mobile phones which have GSM do work. Should you require a mobile phone we can arrange one for you.

Are credit cards accepted on the islands?

Most major credit cards are accepted on the islands except in bars and some restaurants. Most of the islands do have ATM machines. For rest payments for the yacht and security deposits we accept VISA and MasterCard.

Can I bring my pet?

Yachts do not permit guests to bring pets on board . Animals are typically not accustomed to the strict confinement of a ship and an active cruising itinerary can be quite uncomfortable for pets. There are exceptions to the rule so please ask.

Is smoking allowed on yachts?

For safety reasons smoking is not permitted in the staterooms or cabins. Many yachts allow smoking in the saloon area. Smoking is allowed on deck.

Can you store luggage for me ashore while I am on the yacht?

Yes. We have storage facilities on all our bases. It is good to let the office know a head of time that you will be requiring storage so that arrangements can be made.

What are your busiest / slowest seasons and what impact does that have on the rate?

The busiest time of the season is August and the slowest is April and mid-October. Basically there are three periods in the season: Period A (high), period B, and period C, between periods the prices vary from period A to Period C by 35% and between period A and B prices are 10% less.
